News: Child dies in alleged DUI accident at Hwy 59 and Chimney Rock

HOUSTON, TX – According to KTRK, a child is dead after a man suspected of driving impaired driving fatally collided with multiple vehicles Saturday.

According to witnesses, a Honda was driving erratically on the southbound lanes of Hwy 59 prior to the crash. The driver then collided with a semi-truck, a Mercedes, and finally a box truck.

The 5-year-old child was launched from the car upon impact with the box truck. It is unclear if she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

In addition to the 5-year-old, the Honda was also occupied by a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old. They were both hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. It is unclear if the driver was related to the children.

Police have arrested the driver and charged him with murder.

News: Collision between 2 drunk drivers kills 1 near Jersey Village

HOUSTON, TX – A man died after two drunk drivers collided near Jackrabbit Rd and Blazey Dr on August 2, News 4 San Antonio reports.

According to police, a white vehicle ran a stop sign and slammed into a pickup truck. The collision sent both vehicles into a ditch.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. and hospitalized the driver of the white vehicle. He would die there from his injuries.

The passenger in the pickup truck was uninjured. The condition of its driver is unknown at this time.

News: Alleged underage impaired driver fatally strikes woman on I-45

HOUSTON, TX – A suspected underaged drunk driver fatally struck a woman on I-45, just north of the Texas 8 Beltway Wednesday night, ABC 13 reports.

At around 11 p.m., the woman’s Toyota 4-Runner broke down and became stranded in the moving lane. She exited the vehicle and was then struck by a Chevy pickup truck driven by a 20 year-old-male.

The impact caught the Chevy on fire. Bystanders at the scene pulled the male from the burning wreckage. He was then hospitalized.

Investigators believe he was impaired at the wreck and charged the 20-year-old with intoxicated manslaughter.

News: Suspected impaired driver crashes into patrol car on Aldine Mail Route Rd

HOUSTON, TX – A driver suspected of being impaired slammed head-on into a patrol car on the 500 block of Aldine Mail Route Road Thursday evening, reports ABC 13.

The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m.  The suspect, an unidentified 59-year-old man, left the westbound lanes of Aldine Mail Route Rd in his Toyota Solara and crashed into the deputy’s patrol car, which was in the eastbound lanes.

Investigators do not believe the suspect was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. However, the Solara’s airbag did deploy on impact.

Following the crash, both drivers were hospitalized with minor injuries

Though no alcoholic containers were found in the suspect’s Solara, deputies planned on conducting a toxicology test at the hospital.

The results of the test as well as the names of the suspect and deputy have not yet been released.
