News: Victim of October crash on North Lp East dies

HOUSTON, TX – According to Houston Police, the woman who was critically injured at 1600 North Loop East on October 15 has died.

The driver of a Dodge Avenger was driving east on North Lp East when they rear-ended the back of a semi-truck stopped at a light on Hardy St.

First responders were called to the scene around 3:35 p.m. They transported the 87-year-old female passenger to an area hospital, where she died on November 3.

The incident is under investigation by the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Houston Police Department.

News: Police respond to fatal multi-vehicle crash on N Eldridge Pkwy

HOUSTON, TX – A person died following a three-vehicle collision at 5100 North Eldridge Pkwy Tuesday morning, HPD reports.

According to witnesses, the driver of a Toyota Corolla was heading south on Eldridge Pkwy without its headlights on when it strayed into the northbound lanes and collided with the driver of a Nissan Frontier. The impact spun the Corolla around. The Corolla was then hit by the driver of a Toyota Tacoma that was traveling north. The Corolla finally came to rest in a ditch.

Emergency crews extricated the two occupants of the Corolla from the vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Tacoma were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.

News: Fatal 2-vehicle collision reported on Parker Rd

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities responded to a fatal two-car collision at 1000 Parker Rd Thursday.

The victim was stopped in a Mustang at a stop sign on Parker Rd. A Chevrolet Trailblazer collided with the Mustang as the victim left the stop sign.

The driver of the Trailblazer continued east on Parker Rd until the vehicle became disabled. The driver and her 4-year-old passenger returned to the crash site to give a statement to the police.

First responders pronounced the driver of the Mustang dead at the scene around 3:15 p.m. The 4-year-old was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital as a precaution.

Police do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.

News: Driver fatally collides with bicyclist on Sunbeam St

HOUSTON, TX – A driver fatally struck a bicyclist on the 5500 block of Sunbeam St Monday, according to Click 2 Houston.

Police responded to the crash site after receiving calls concerning the collision around 7:25 p.m. They found a person dead at the scene.

Following the wreck, the driver cooperated with the police. It is unclear if they will be charged with anything concerning the incident.

News: Driver of stolen semi-truck crashes into home, kills woman on McKinley Street

HOUSTON, TX –  According to KTRK, the driver of a stolen semi-truck plowed through a mobile home at 11500 McKinley Street Monday, killing one occupant.

Eric Black, 39, stole the truck from a company about ten miles away from where the crash happened. Black jumped out of the moving semi-truck before it collided with the mobile home around 10:40 p.m.

Police were able to locate the video because it was equipped with a GPS tracking system. Black was still in the truck when officers arrived.  Crews took Black to an area hospital with minor injuries.

News: Alleged impaired driver runs light, fatally crashes into car on Beamer Rd

HOUSTON, TX – According to police, an alleged impaired driver ran a red light and fatally collided with another vehicle at 10900 Beamer Rd Saturday.

Authorities say that Kyle Nolen Lozano, 40, was speeding in a Cadillac Deville on northbound Beamer Rd when he ran the red light and plowed into a Ford Escape on Fuqua Dr.

Paramedics were called to the scene around 5:20 p.m. They transported the driver and 55-year-old female passenger of the Escape to an area hospital. The driver died at the hospital. The passenger was admitted in critical condition.

Police determined that Lozano was impaired at the time of the collision. He was charged and booked in jail after he was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital.

News: Impaired driver fatally collides with woman on I-10

HOUSTON, TX – First responders pronounced a woman dead on I-10 following a crash involving an alleged impaired driver Sunday, Click 2 Houston reports.

A woman was driving a Toyota Camry with three female passengers parked on the shoulder of the inbound lanes. She exited the vehicle to check on a sick passenger when the Camry was rear-ended by Hyundai Ascent operated by Stanley Lewis II, 28.

First responders were called to the area and pronounced the driver of the Camry dead at the scene of the crash around 3 a.m. They transported the sick passenger from the Camry and Lewis to an area hospital. The other two passengers in the Camry were not injured in the collision.

Authorities charged Lewis with intoxication manslaughter and took him to jail.

News: Police respond to fatal crash on North Fwy

HOUSTON, TX – A box truck fatally struck a pedestrian at 2900 North Fwy service Rd on October 6, according to the police.

The truck driver was heading south on North Fwy when he spotted the victim in the middle of the street. The driver attempted to avoid colliding with the man, but the man moved into the lane of the box truck and was hit.

Paramedics were called to the scene around 7:15 p.m. They transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he died on October 17.

Police do not believe impairment played a factor in the collision.

News update: Authorities arrest suspect for fatal crash at 2100 Pierce St

HOUSTON, TX – Police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a fatal crash at 2100 Pierce st Saturday.

According to authorities, Timoteo Arteaga, 36, was driving a Volkswagen Tiguan on southbound St. Emanuel St when he ran a stop sign at the intersection with Pierce St and collided with a Kia Forte operated by a 30-year-old male.

Paramedics were called to the scene around 10:10 p.m. They transported the victim to an area hospital, where he later died.

Police detained Arteaga and found him to be impaired. Arteaga and his passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities will transfer Artaega to jail once he is released from the hospital.

HOUSTON,  TX – A man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and colliding with a light pole on the 8500 block of Airline Dr Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The victim was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a curb, and plowed into a light pole at around 11:35 p.m.

First responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where they later died.
