Wrong way driver on Eastex Freeway hospitalizes 4, kills 2

HOUSTON, TX – A woman driving the wrong way on the Eastex Freeway crash into a car occupied by two parents and three children, killing one of the children in the process.

The unidentified woman was heading south in the northbound lanes around 3 a.m. The driver neared the intersection with the 610 North Loop and then collided with the family car.

A two-year-old child was killed in the crash. The other two children and both of the parents were taken to the hospital in serious condition. The woman driving the car going the wrong way was also killed in the crash.

Police do not know yet if impairment was a factor in the accident.
