Update: Name of man who struck pedestrian released

Anthony Rodriguez was driving along the 16700 block of the North Freeway when a pedestrian suddenly appeared on the roadway.
Rodriguez did try to miss hitting the man but did not swerve in time. After the collision, he left his vehicle to check on the condition of the pedestrian. He found that the pedestrian was already dead.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash. They do not believe Rodriguez was impaired at the time of the crash.
