HOUSTON, TX – Police report that a man running in the main lanes at 4800 North Fwy was fatally struck by a van Sunday.
A 37-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Express north on the freeway when they collided with the victim. He remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the police.
In addition to the van, a driver of a Metro bus also stopped to help the victim. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at the crash site by first responders around 11:40 p.m,
Officers do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash. They released the driver after they questioned him.
