HOUSTON, TX – The person who owned the car used to fatally strike three people last Friday has been named, ABC 13 reports.

Johntel Lewis drove to the restaurant to meet up with friends. He handed his keys to the valet and, by the time Lewis received his food, three people were dead.

Ahmedal Modawi drove Lewis’s Infiniti across the street to perform donuts. Shortly afterward, a patrol car pulled up to initiate a traffic stop.

Modawi attempted to flee the scene when he plowed into Nick Rodriguez, Fnan Measho, and Eric Orduna. The three people died in the wreck.

Café Mawal claims that Modawi was not an employee or contract worker for the restaurant. However, police say that a passenger in the Infiniti at the time of collision can be seen wearing a shirt with a valet log on it on security footage.

Modawi remains in the hospital. He is not expected to appear in his court for his case scheduled today.
