HOUSTON, TX – A driver was killed and multiple people were injured as a result of a wrong-way crash involving multiple vehicles on Highway 6 late Saturday night, according to KHOU.

The accident occurred at around 10:50 p.m. in the 13300 block of Highway 6 N, near Hempstead Road and Copper Grove Boulevard.

The driver of a Toyota Sienna minivan crossed over the concrete and into the lanes of oncoming northbound traffic. The southbound Sienna then crashed into the side of a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The driver of the F-150 attempted to avoid the crash and made an evasive maneuver into the lanes of oncoming southbound traffic, where he almost crashed into the driver of a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. The driver of the Colorado then swerved into the northbound lanes to try to avoid the F-150, where the Colorado crashed into the Sienna.

The driver of the Sienna died at the scene.

The driver’s daughter was taken to the hospital with severe injuries that she is expected to survive.

The drivers of the two pickup trucks suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. A passenger in the Colorado also suffered minor wounds in the crash.

The drivers of the Ford and the Colorado were not intoxicated when the accident happened. At this time, authorities have not yet determined if the deceased driver was under the influence.

Their investigation continues.
