News: Woman struck, killed on East Freeway service road

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was fatally struck by a pickup truck when she ran into a busy freeway service road in east Houston last Saturday.
According to a report by HPD, the incident occurred at about 11 a.m. along the I-10 service road near the intersection with Maxey Road.
Investigators say the victim, a 56-year-old woman, jogged into the roadway to retrieve tools that had fallen from her vehicle when she was hit by a white Ford F-150.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was questioned and released. No charges are expected to be filed at this time.
