HOUSTON, TX – Police have released the man’s name charged in connection with a fatal car crash on the 5900 block of Southwest Fwy Saturday, KWTX reports.
Paul Rodriguez, 30, was driving a Honda when weaving in and out of traffic on Southwest Fwy when he collided first with a semi-truck, then a red Mercedes Benz, and finally a box truck.
The force of the impact from colliding with the box truck caused Rodriguez’s 6-year-old girl to be launched from the vehicle. First responders transported the girl to an area hospital, where she died the next day.
Rodriguez and his two sons were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers have charged Rodriguez with murder, intoxicated assault, and DUI with a child passenger. His bond has been set at $250,000.
