News update: Police release more information concerning crash on Pierce St

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities have released additional details concerning the crash on Hamilton St Wednesday.

A 63-year-woman driving a Ford Fusion on southbound Hamilton St when ran a red light at the intersection with Pierce St and collided with Chevrolet Malibu operated by a 31-year-old woman traveling eastbound on Pierce St.

The force of the impact sent the Ford off the roadway and down a concrete embankment before slamming into a concrete retention wall.

First responders were dispatched to the wreck around 1:30 p.m. They transported the driver of thFordrd with non-life-threatening injuries.  They also treated the other driver at the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Houston Police Department. They have not released the names of the drivers at this time.
