News update: Police release more info concerning fatal crash on Gulf Fwy

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities have released more details on the pedestrian who was struck and killed at 6600 Gulf Fwy Sunday.

A driver stopped on the Fwy when he saw the victim, a 47-year-old woman, walking across the main lanes of traffic. His vehicle was then struck by three other cars.

As the car was being struck, multiple other vehicles collided with the victim.

One of the vehicles that struck the victim, a blue Chevrolet Avalanche, remained at the scene after the incident and cooperated with police.

First responders arrived at the scene of the accident around 8:15 p.m. They transported the victim to an area hospital, where they later died.

The incident is under investigation by the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Houston Police Department.
