News Update: Police release more details on fatal pedestrian crash on Bissonnet St.

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police have released more information concerning the crash that killed a pedestrian that was attempting to flee officers on August 15.

The 69-year-old victim was at a bus stop when they suddenly sprinted across Bissonnet St. outside of a designated crosswalk in an attempt to evade police. The pursuing officer was unable to veer out of the way in time and ended up striking the individual.

First responders took the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital, where they died from their injuries. Their identity has not yet been made publicly available.
