News update: Police release additional info concerning fatal crash on Main St

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities have disclosed more about the fatal crash that killed two pedestrians at 1000 Main St Wednesday.

The 60-year-old driver was heading south in a Dodge Ram pickup truck when he struck Jessica Hood, 49, and an unidentified man. The two victims were outside a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

Dispatchers sent firefighters and paramedics to the crash site around 9 p.m. They pronounced the victims dead at the scene of the accident.

Following the crash, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the case.

No charges have been filed against the driver at this time. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
