News Update: Man arrested after fatally striking bicyclist in Inwood

HARRIS CO., TX – The driver responsible for fatally striking a bicyclist in the Greater Inwood area early Monday morning has been charged, according to The Leader News.

Police say 24-year-old Ronald Sariles was heading west on Little York Road when his Toyota pickup truck swerved and struck the cyclist who was riding in the far-right bike lane.

Sariles’s vehilce then veered off the roadway and slammed into a utility pole and a brick wall.

The cyclist, a 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Toyota aws treated for a laceration to the face and a broken ankle.

Sariles has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
