News update: Authorities release more info on fatal Southwest Fwy crash

HOUSTON, TX – Police have released the suspect’s name believed to be responsible for a deadly crash at 6000 Southwest Fwy on Sunday morning, according to HPD.
Diana Laura Monterroza, 21, was driving a gray Nissan Altima on northbound Southwest Fwy Frontage Rd. She ran the red light at the intersection with Fountain View Rd and struck a gray Acura that was occupied by two people.
First responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident around 3:15 a.m. They pronounced the 31-year-old driver of the Acura dead when they arrived. They then hospitalized the passenger in critical condition at an area hospital.
Police charged Monterroza with intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.
