News: Suspected drunk driver fatally strikes bicyclist in Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A bicyclist was killed early this morning when he was hit by a suspected drunk driver in northwest Houston.

According to Fox 26 Houston, the cyclist was struck by a Toyota pickup truck while riding in the 2800 block of West Little York Road, near Sylvester Turner Park.

Witnesses told police the pickup was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic when it ran up the curb and hit the bicyclist.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Both occupants in the pickup were hospitalized in stable condition.

reports suggest driver of the pickup, a man in his 20s, will likely face an intoxication manslaughter charge.
