News: Man struck, killed while crossing South Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed on Monday evening when he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the South Freeway.

According to a report by HPD, the crash took place at about 6:35 p.m. as the man stepped into the southbound lanes of the freeway near Almeda Genoa Road.

The man was rushed to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver involved called 911 from a nearby parking lot. That individual was questioned and released from the scene.
