HOUSTON, TX – A man stepping out of a stalled vehicle was fatally struck by another driver on the North Freeway early this morning, according to KHOU.

The crash happened on the inbound North Fwy near Crosstimbers Road just after 12 a.m., when a pickup truck traveling in one of the middle lanes stalled. The driver of a second pickup truck crashed into the first driver after he had gotten out of his vehicle to inspect it.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female passenger in the first pickup and the second driver were not reported as injured.

The second driver remained at the scene following the crash. Authorities have not yet determined if intoxication played a role in the accident.
