HOUSTON, TX – A man died after his vehicle collided with a tree following a suspected shooting and stabbing in southeast Houston early Saturday morning, according to KTRK.

The crash happened at around 2:25 a.m. near Wimberly Canyon Court and Nellsfield Lane, after the driver of a white Chevrolet pickup truck crashed into a tree only moments after neighbors reportedly heard a gunshot.

The victim, who was identified only as a man who lived about half a block away from the crash scene, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are uncertain if he was killed by the gunshot wound or the multiple lacerations found on his body. Their investigation continues at this time.
