News: Man crossing street in southeast Houston fatally hit by car

HOUSTON, TX – A man crossing the street in southeast Houston was killed when he was hit by a driver late last night, according to KHOU.

The crash occurred at around 8 p.m. near the Gulf Freeway in the 9000 block of Clearwood Drive as the victim, who was not immediately identified, was crossing the street in an attempt to reach either a bus stop or a convenience store.

The victim was then struck by the driver of a white pickup truck who may not have been using his headlights.

The victim was pronounced dead after the crash.

The driver remained at the scene following the collision and has cooperated with the investigation. Authorities do not believe he was intoxicated when the crash occurred.

Their investigation continues at this time.
