HOUSTON, TX – A man was arrested last Friday following a deadly hit-and-run crash in Houston’s Chinatown neighborhood.

According to HPD, the crash took place at about 7:10 p.m. near the intersection of Gessner Road and Neff Street.

Police say 20-year-old Alessio Leonardo Bevinetto was heading south on Gessner Road when his pickup truck slammed into a Toyota Camry that was stopped at the intersection.

Both occupants in the Toyota, a man and a woman, were killed in the crash.

Benvinetto initially fled the scene on foot. He was taken into custody several hours later and charged with two counts of failure to stop and render aid in an accident involving death in the 183rd State District Court.
