News: Major hit-and-run crash on I-69 leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police were called to the scene of a hit-and-run crash involving four vehicles that left one person killed, and another injured on Sunday.

According to a report by HPD, the crash occurred at 2:50 a.m. when a red Suzuki was rear-ended by an unknown vehicle in the northbound lanes of I-69 near Greenbriar Drive.

The driver of the Suzuki lost control and overturned into roadway, where it was struck by a third vehicle, a silver Infiniti. Moment’s later the Suzuki was hit a third bime by an oncoming BMW.

Two passengers in the Suzuki were able to extricate a third passenger. That individual was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The unidentified driver of the Suzuki was pronounced dead at the scene.

The BMW’s driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to a nearby hospital and subsequently charged with DWI.

No further identifying information regarding the driver responsible for their crash or thier vehicle is available at this time.
