News: Impaired driver fatally collides with woman on I-10

HOUSTON, TX – First responders pronounced a woman dead on I-10 following a crash involving an alleged impaired driver Sunday, Click 2 Houston reports.
A woman was driving a Toyota Camry with three female passengers parked on the shoulder of the inbound lanes. She exited the vehicle to check on a sick passenger when the Camry was rear-ended by Hyundai Ascent operated by Stanley Lewis II, 28.
First responders were called to the area and pronounced the driver of the Camry dead at the scene of the crash around 3 a.m. They transported the sick passenger from the Camry and Lewis to an area hospital. The other two passengers in the Camry were not injured in the collision.
Authorities charged Lewis with intoxication manslaughter and took him to jail.
