HOUSTON, TX – A teen driver is facing charges after she fled the scene of a deadly crash in northeast Houston last Thursday evening.

According to a report by HPD, the crash took place at about 6:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of Kelley Street, near the intersection with Wipprecht Street.

Investigators believe 18-year-old Martha Sanquita Reese lost control of her vehicle while traveling east and veered into the median. The vehicle then slammed into a roadside tree, killing the 23-year-old male passenger.

Reese then fled the scene, leaving the deceased victim and another injured victim behind. She was later located and taken into custody on charges of failure to stop and render aid.
