News: Crash knocks down power lines on US-59

HOUSTON, TX – All lanes on US-59 were shut down Friday afternoon after a collision caused powerlines to go down across the highway.

According to ABC 13, the crash happened shortly before 1 pm. in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Bissonnet Street.

It is unclear at this time if anyone was injured in the crash. However, both the northbound and southbound lanes have been closed while crews assess the situation.

Drivers have been advised to seek an alternate route as delays are likely throughout the afternoon.
