HOUSTON, TX – An 89-year-old man died after being struck by a car on the 7700 block of Braniff St sometime Tuesday morning, Houston Chronicle reports.

The pedestrian was walking along Braniff St when a driver saw him. That driver flashed his lights at an oncoming car to signal there was a pedestrian in the road.

This action confused the driver of the oncoming vehicle and caused him not to see the pedestrian. They then struck the pedestrian while driving at a low speed.

After the collision, the driver cooperated with the police. No charges are expected to be filed. The area where the accident took place has neither sidewalks nor sufficient lighting.
