HOUSTON, TX – A suspected underaged drunk driver fatally struck a woman on I-45, just north of the Texas 8 Beltway Wednesday night, ABC 13 reports.

At around 11 p.m., the woman’s Toyota 4-Runner broke down and became stranded in the moving lane. She exited the vehicle and was then struck by a Chevy pickup truck driven by a 20 year-old-male.

The impact caught the Chevy on fire. Bystanders at the scene pulled the male from the burning wreckage. He was then hospitalized.

Investigators believe he was impaired at the wreck and charged the 20-year-old with intoxicated manslaughter.
