HOUSTON, TX – A man has been charged for his role in the death of an unidentified 72-year-old male, reports HPD.

Michael David Arevealo, 35, was driving west on the Southwest Fwy in a Dodge pickup truck. At around 3:05 a.m., Arevealo strayed off the road and into a light pole. The force of the collision spun the truck and it finally came to rest in the middle of multiple lanes of traffic.

A minute later, Arevealo’s truck was then struck by a Nissan Murano driven by the victim.

Police charged Avrevealo with intoxication manslaughter after determining that he was impaired at the time of the crash.

Officials will release the identity of the victim once their next of kin have been notified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division investigated the case.
