News: 2 people had limbs amputated due to injuries from major crash on Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – Two people had to have limbs amputated after a three-vehicle wreck on the Eastex Freeway near Kashmere Gardens late Saturday night, reports the Houston Chronicle.
The pileup happened in the northbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway near the Collingsworth overpass at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday. Two of the three people who were hospitalized had to have limbs amputated as a result of the major wreck.
Houston police are still unsure how the incident happened, but they believe the weekend’s heavy rainfall played a crucial role.
