DALLAS, TX – A natural gas explosion at a South Dallas apartment complex on Wednesday morning resulted in injuries to seven people, including four firefighters.
According to a report by CBS DFW, fire crews were dispatched to a two-story apartment complex in the 5700 block of Highland Hills Drive after receiving reports of a natural gas leak.
As they conducted their investigations, firefighters noticed the smell of natural gas, followed by a blast that caused much of the building to collapse. Photos from the scene show a half-demolished building with debris thrown onto other nearby buildings and vehicles.
Three civilians were taken to Parkland Hospital, where they were listed in fair condition. Four firefighters were also reportedly injured in the blast. However, their conditions remain unclear at this time.
