Motorcyclist rear-ends dump truck, dies on State Hwy 6

HOUSTON, TX – A crash on State Hwy 6 took the life of a motorcyclist on Monday evening, according to Houston Police.
A 44-year-old woman was riding a blue motorcycle near South 2400 State Hwy 6. At around 11:35 p.m., the motorcycle struck the rear of a dump truck. It then went off the road and into a ditch.
The driver of the dump truck did not stop following the collision. Police believe he may not have been aware of the crash.
Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department pronounced the motorcyclist dead. Her identity will be released after it is verified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The incident is under investigation by the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Houston Police Department.
