Man injured in Cypress dies

CYPRESS, TX – A man who was involved in a two-vehicle collision on July 11 has died from their injuries, reports the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Police received reports of the incident around 5:29 p.m.
According to the press release, Douglas Bassett was driving south on Fry Rd in a white Ford F-150 as Jesus Sifuentes Pacheco was driving north on the same road in a brown F-150.
Bassett turned left at the intersection of Fry Rd and Miramesa Dr and was then struck by Pacheco’s truck.
Pacheco was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Bassett was hospitalized in critical condition. He died at around 6:11 p.m. Wednesday afternoon from injuries sustained in the collision.
The Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County Sherrif’s Office is investigating the case.
