Firey crash shuts down traffic near Memorial City

HOUSTON, TX – A firey crash shut down the westbound lanes of Katy Freeway near the Memorial City community of Houston on Tuesday morning, reports KHOU.

According to officers, around 11 a.m. a truck caught on fire after crashing on the section of Katy Freeway near the Sam Houston Tollway. All westbound and southbound traffic on Katy Freeway and Sam Houston Tollway were shut down until 5 a.m.

It is not known at this time if anyone was hurt in the crash.
