CROSBY, TX – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run on FM 2100 early Thursday morning, according to an HCSO press release.

Collen Rindfuss left Frenz Sports Bar and Grill, located at 19128 FM 2100, around 1:05 a.m. She was driving a Kia Rio and turned on to southbound on FM 2100. At the same time, a Ford Explorer operated by Osmaro Oswaldo Guevara was traveling north on FM 2100.

Guevara collided with the Rio as it was turning south. The impact launched Rindfuss out of the car and pushed the Kia off the road and into a ditch. Rindfuss was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Osmaro’s Ford Explorer continued to travel north on FM 2100 until it came to a rest facing south in the north bound lanes. He left the scene after being picked up in a dark-colored truck.

Officers located Osmaro after contacting his girlfriend. Osmaro was detained by police and admitted to both being the driver of the Ford Explorer and not checking on the victim following the crash. He claimed he did not call 911 because he was afraid.

Osmaro was arrested. The Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
