Driver dies, injures 3 after running red light in Westwood

HOUSTON, TX – A person is dead following a crash near the Houston community of Westwood, reports KTRK.

At 3 a.m. Sunday morning, a car with one passenger was driving erratically when it ran a red light at the intersection of Southwest Freeway and Bissonnet St. The car then collided with an SUV before slamming into a concrete pillar under a bridge.

The SUV was occupied by a driver and a passenger. They were both hospitalized in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle that ran the red light was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Their passenger was also hospitalized.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased driver.
