Crash in northern Houston kills 1

HOUSTON, TX – A deadly collision in northern Houston killed a driver on Tuesday morning, reports KTRK.

A Ford F-50 truck was speeding in the eastbound lane of the N Sam Houston Pkwy at the same time a Nissan was heading south on JFK Blvd.

At around 5:50 a.m., the driver approached the intersection of the two roads and allegedly ran a red light before colliding with the Nissan.

The force of the impact from the crash resulted in the vehicles taking down a light post and multiple signs before striking a Ford Expedition which was sitting at the red light.

According to police, the crash crushed the driver of the Nissan, an unidentified male. He died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Ford was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the incident. No charges have been made at this time concerning the collision.
