Raciel Gonzalez is a senior litigation paralegal at Kherkher Garcia. Raciel has worked in the legal industry for over 30 years, assisting in all phases of litigation, from inception through discovery and trial. His main practice area at Kherkher Garcia is primarily personal injury litigation, with an emphasis in commercial automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability lawsuits, wrongful death, dram shop liability, workplace injuries, construction accidents, and product liability.

Raciel began his legal career in 1987, at Mandell & Wright, PC., while he was a senior in high school, serving as the law firm’s messenger. Impressed by his work ethic and desire to learn more, Mandell & Wright offered to extend Raciel’s employment while he pursued his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Houston. As messenger, one of Raciel’s duties was filing legal memoranda at the courthouse. Raciel, always eager to learn more, would take advantage of long courthouse filing lines by reading pleadings and various legal memoranda, further developing his understanding of the different causes of action, motions, and issues related to discovery. Raciel’s duties eventually expanded from messenger to interpretation and translating for Spanish speaking clients, to filing and drafting pleadings, document examination, fact development, deposition preparation and trial preparation.

In May 1992, Raciel graduated with a degree in Political Science from the University of Houston. Shortly thereafter, he began working as a full-time paralegal at Mandell & Wright, where he worked for over 10 years. Over his career, Raciel has developed expertise in complex personal injury litigation, in both state and federal courts.

Raciel is active in mentoring younger attorneys. “I was lucky to have the opportunity to work alongside trial lawyers who taught me how to work a case from beginning to end – from the initial client meeting to settlement negotiations. I’ve tried to provide young lawyers with the same mentorship that I benefitted from, as this was instrumental in weaving the fabric for which I have come to be.”
