2-vehicle crash kills at least 1 in Sugar Land

SUGAR LAND, TX – At least one person was killed following a collision between an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck on Saturday, reports KTRK.

At 7 a.m. an 18-wheeler transporting produce was driving on northbound U.S. Frontage Rd 49. As the vehicle approached the intersection at Crabb River Rd, it struck a pickup truck.

The collision caused both vehicles to burst into flames. The driver of the 18-wheeler was able to exit his vehicle uninjured. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
